Welcome to The Glen Montessori
As a Montessori school, The Glen
operates on the principle of freedom within limits, reflecting a core
Montessori belief: respect
for each other and for the environment At The Glen, as at any Montessori school,
you would see multi-aged children in a multi-graded classroom, working at
their own pace—with materials they have chosen, either alone or with others.
The directress relies on her observations of the children to determine which
new activities and materials she should introduce to an individual child or
to a small or large group. Her aim is to encourage active, self-directed
learning and to strike a balance of individual mastery with small group
collaboration within the whole group community. What
differentiates The Glen from other schools and makes it special is the caring
environment and parent participation. Our school truly is the “village” that
